BANGKOK, Thailand — The Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) will host the Thailand ADR Conference 2026 from 2–4 September 2026 at the Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel under the theme “OECD Readiness Through Predictable Justice: The Strategic Role of ADR.”
The three-day conference will bring together leading figures from the legal, arbitration, business and public sectors to discuss how alternative dispute resolution (ADR) can strengthen legal predictability, improve access to justice and support Thailand’s readiness for closer integration with the OECD.
The event will feature a keynote address by Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, former Secretary-General of UNCTAD and former Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The conference will also feature international dispute-resolution experts, including Justice Dato Mary Lim Thiam Suan, President of the AIAC Court; Gloria Lim, CEO of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC); Joanne Lau, Secretary General of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC); and Nicky Balani, Deputy Managing Director of Arbitration and Mediation at THAC.
On 2 September, the opening programme will focus on Thailand’s readiness for OECD accession and the role of predictable justice in strengthening the country’s legal and economic environment.
A major panel will examine “Thailand’s Readiness in Acceding to the OECD,” bringing together representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, academia, the House of Representatives and Chulalongkorn University.
The afternoon session will turn to ADR and international experience, with experts from major dispute-resolution institutions discussing how arbitration and other ADR mechanisms can strengthen legal predictability and access to justice.
The day will conclude with the opening of THAC’s revised Arbitration Rules and hearing facilities, presented by Suriyapong Tubtimtae, Managing Director of the Thailand Arbitration Center.
On 3 September, discussions will focus on policy outcomes, the effectiveness of ADR and the rule of law. Sessions will cover the factors that can make dispute resolution more predictable, reduce the duration of disputes, and ensure that arbitration awards can be effectively enforced.
Speakers will include lawyers, prosecutors, academics and representatives from the financial and business sectors, reflecting the growing importance of ADR beyond traditional legal practice.
The conference is expected to provide an international platform for exchanging experiences among dispute-resolution institutions while exploring how Thailand can further develop its arbitration and mediation ecosystem.
With Thailand seeking to strengthen its international legal and investment environment, the conference places particular emphasis on predictability, efficiency and confidence in the justice system—factors that can influence both domestic businesses and international investors when deciding where to conduct commercial activities or resolve disputes.
